Elephant Ambassador Program
The Elephant Ambassador Program is aimed at creating an international network for promoting elephant rights throughout the world. Elephant Ambassadors serve as a source of information for their community at large, create education initiatives, and actively engage with others to become a voice for the endangered Asian elephant.
The primary role of Elephant Ambassadors is to educate their communities about the plight of the Asian elephant. Word of mouth is a very powerful means of educating. Through this program we hope to increase awareness, which will lead to a decrease in demand from tourists to experience elephants in ways that mistreat and exploit them.
Our ambassadors act as the eyes and ears for elephants around the globe. Whilst elephants may not be native to your country, they are most likely still in zoos and circuses close by. As an ambassador you will be able to draw attention to issues that arise surrounding these elephants and the organizations that own them.
Along with educating the community, one of the most effective things our Ambassadors can do is to take action! This might mean lobbying your local government, approaching travel agents or creating petitions to sign regarding the plight of the Asian elephant. You can then share your experiences with other ambassadors of the Save Elephant Foundation, launching an more international effort.
The three most active ambassadors each year will be rewarded with a weeks free stay at Elephant Nature Park, determined by submission of a detailed report and proof of their activities.
Requirements of an Elephant Ambassador
We will only accept applications from previous visitors and volunteers of a Save Elephant Foundation project (e.g. Elephant Nature Park, Journey to Freedom, Surin Project, Elephant Sanctuary Cambodia). Each person will become an Ambassador within his or her home city; forming a worldwide network. Ambassadors located close to each other are able to collaborate in order to educate their communities.
Although a large time commitment is not required for this program, all ambassadors must be passionate about the cause and dedicated to make a difference to help the Asian elephant! Elephant Ambassadors will need to have a positive attitude, be confident and able to work both independently and within a group in order to educate others.

If you're ready be an Elephant Ambassador with us, we're ready to help! Below is an application form for you to fill out. Once you're part of the global team, the Save Elephant Foundation will provide you with a start-up kit full of information, ideas and online resources that will get you on your way to spreading awareness!
NOTE: While the Elephant Ambassador Program works with Elephant Nature Park, the purpose of this project is not to endorse the Park or fundraise for the Save Elephant Foundation; its primary mission is to spread the word about the dire situation currently facing Asian elephants. This means that comparing Elephant Nature Park to other facilities and organizations is not the goal of this program, but rather the focus should be on increasing awareness and taking action to prevent the mistreatment and exploitation of elephants.
